CSUB Softball Returns Home to Host CSUN

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – After being out on the road last weekend, the CSU Bakersfield softball team returns home this weekend for a three-game series with CSUN on Saturday, Apr. 30 and Sunday, May 1.

The `Runners (8-28, 3-15 Big West) will host the Matadors while looking to snap out of a six-game losing streak. CSUN (17-28, 7-11 Big West) come to town after dropping two in their three-game series to UC Riverside and after sweeping UC Davis the weekend prior.

CSUB and CSUN have a rivalry dating back to 1985. The Matadors hold the all-time series lead over the `Runners by a tally of 46 to 19. The last victory for Bakersfield in the series came in 2015, when the team recorded a 7-6 road win.

Saturday's doubleheader is Alumni Day for the `Runners. All CSUB alumni can RSVP ahead of time to receive one free ticket as well as discounted tickets for their guests. RSVP at GoRunners.com/alumni. Sunday's game is the softball team's Golden Game, when all CSUB students in attendance will receive free Cracker Jacks. Just like with free admission, students must show their CSUB ID to receive this giveaway.

Tickets for the weekend series are available at GoRunners.com/Tickets. Fans who cannot attend the games in person can follow the action live via ESPN+ broadcasts. Links to the broadcasts, live stats, tickets, and more are available at GoRunners.com/Live.
