Get to Know CSUB Women's Basketball: Center

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield women's basketball team is currently 1-1 on the season. The Roadrunners fell 86-41 for their season opener against the USC Trojans. `Runners took their first win of the season in exciting fashion, 56-53, against valley rivals, the Fresno State Bulldogs on Nov. 11. CSUB travels to UNLV Sunday, Nov. 20, to take on the Rebels.

We want to continue to introduce the team to fans, providing more insight into the person behind the name, number, and uniform. To conclude our position-by-position breakdown of the `Runner women's basketball team, meet Head Coach Greg McCall's center.

`Runner Center
  • #13 Soli Herrera (Returner)

    • From Bani, Dominican Republic, went to Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas.
    • Saw action in 24 games last year and was a starter for three games.
    • Tallied a season-best seven points on 3-of-5 shooting against UC Irvine
    • Coach McCall: "[Soli] is a pick and roll center. She can shoot 15-footers and can pick and pop. She can defend both post positions and even the 3 because of her speed and athletic ability. She has become a great leader on the floor for us and has become a lot more vocal."
    • Most influential athlete: "Lebron James, because I like him and he's famous."
    • Favorite pre-game song: "Party by Bad Bunny."
