`Runners Down UCR for Second-Straight Sweep

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – For the second-straight night, the Cal State Bakersfield volleyball team (5-13, 2-4 Big West) earned a Big West sweep on its home floor. On Saturday night, the Roadrunners battled the UC Riverside Highlanders (3-12, 1-5 Big West), including the third and final marathon set that went all the way to a final score of 34-32.

  • CSUB tallied an impressive 54 digs in the three-set match.
  • Sophomore outside hitter Ava Palm (Bakersfield native, BHS graduate) posted a season-high 15 kills to lead the `Runner offense while adding a pair of blocks as well.
  • Senior outside hitter Hayley McCluskey chipped in 12 kills, six digs, three assists, and two aces.

  • Bakersfield and Riverside played a tight first set that featured 11 tied scores.
