Big West Announces 2022-23 Basketball Preseason Polls

IRVINE, Calif. – The result of the 2022-23 Big West Conference preseason men's basketball coaches' poll was announced throughout the day on Wednesday, live on ESPN+ as part of The Big West men's basketball preview show. Heading into their third year in the league, the Roadrunners have been predicted to finish in the bottom half of the conference standings.

CSUB Head Coach Rod Barnes' squad have been voted eighth in the 11-team poll, two spots lower than the team's 2021-22 projection. UC Santa Barbara ran away with the poll first-place votes, claiming nine of ten available first-place votes, while Hawai'i and Long Beach State finished close in a battle for No. 2.

The Big West coaches, who were unable to vote for their own student-athletes, selected a six-man Preseason All-Big West Team. No `Runners were received enough votes to land a spot and earn preseason honors.

The `Runners are preparing to kick off the 2023-23 season with a home exhibition on Thursday, Nov. 3. Before then, fans will get their first look at the squad at the annual Blue-Gold Scrimmage, a free event for all basketball fans, on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
