BAKERSFIELD, CA – Josh Brown and Albert Urias dropped Round of 8 consolation bouts, Sunday morning, capping CSU Bakersfield's run at the 2022 Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga, Tenn. The Roadrunners finish the event with 19.5 points and sit in 21st place as the tournament heads into championship and placement match ups later today. 

Brown led Bakersfield with four wins at this year's tournament. He dropped his opening round contest with South Dakota State's Zach Price on a late takedown, before rattling off four straight victories to reach day two. Brown's run came to an end with another narrow defeat against Buffalo's John Arceri. 

Brown and Arceri traded escapes to force extra time, before Arceri recorded a Sudden Victory takedown to capture a 3-1 win and advance. 

Urias reached the championship quarterfinals at 174 pounds, before dropping his final two bouts to finish the Scuffle with a 2-2 record. He closed the event with a 3-0 loss to North Dakota State's Austin Brenner. 

Angelo Martinoni (141) and Augustine Garcia (165) also posted a pair of victories over the weekend, with each bowing out in the first consolation Round of 8.
