CSUB Slips On The Road Against Boise State

BOISE, Idaho – CSU Bakersfield women's soccer was up for the task in the first period against Boise State, but three second half goals would be too much to overcome in the 4-1 setback.

A penalty in the 22nd minute put freshman Haley Slouka on the spot in her first career start. She anticipated the direction of the strike correctly, but the ball slid underneath her for the Broncos first goal.

Originally off a corner that Boise State was unable to clear, Leli Halldorsdottir delivered a great ball to freshman Jamie Ingrassia who headed the match equalizer in the 39th minute.

CSUB had sights on their first win at halftime with an even 1-1 score against the Broncos.

The Blue and Orange regained the lead in the 48th minute of the match on a rebound. It wasn't until the 70th minute that Boise State would net their own header and lead 3-1.

Flavia Burrell checked in goal for Slouka after she collided with a Boise State forward in the last 10 minutes of the game. The Broncos added their fourth and final goal in the 83rd minute.

Slouka had a game-best five saves while Chelsee Duran took a team-high two shots.

Bakersfield (0-7-1) drives to Pocatello for a final non-conference match against the Idaho State Bengals (0-8-1). Fans can watch the livestream on ESPN+, listen on KISU or follow live stats. Media coverage links are available on the CSUB women's soccer schedule page.
