Miller Resets Program Pole Vault Record

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Miranda Miller continues to raise the bar, literally. She reset the school record in pole vault for the second time on Saturday. CSU Bakersfield men and women's outdoor track and field combined for three Top 4 finishes over the weekend.

The meet included host Fresno State, Cal Poly, Sacramento State, Seattle U, San Jose State, San Francisco, Saint Mary's, Nevada, Santa Clara and Fresno Pacific.

Miller led all Roadrunners finishing in third place with record breaking mark of 13'1.5". Julianne Finch had her best performance of the year on Saturday placing fifth in pole vault.

Hugo Santana was the third best collegiate thrower in hammer on Friday. He placed fourth overall. Tom Richardson finished seventh in a tough field after throwing a personal best in the event.

Evan Vigass was fourth in the 400m hurdles this afternoon after tabbing a season best in the 110m hurdles.

Julia Stein set two season bests in 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles. She finished her races seventh and sixth, respectively. Stein's 400m hurdles time was fast enough to land her ninth on CSUB's all-time Top 20.

"Good efforts in the pole vault and throws," said Director of Track & Field, Cross Country. "We're also making progress in the hurdles. This team is making good efforts and taking advantage of the opportunities."

Next week throwers and pole vaulters will compete in the LBSU Team Competition.
