D'Arcy School Records Highlight Day One of Dixie State Invitational

Bakersfield, Calif. – Autumn D'Arcy broke a school-records in the 200 IM and the 100 Back, while Mikayla Popham added a pair of top-three finishes to lead CSU Bakersfield Thursday night at the Dixie State Invitational in St. George, Utah. The duo combined to lead the women's 400 Medley Relay to a third-place finish, capping a strong night in the pool for the Roadrunner women.
 
"The ladies led the way tonight," said CSUB Director of Swimming Chris Hansen. "Autumn and Mikayla took charge in the pool. Autumn has come so far over the last year and set two CSUB records, while Mikayla had great swims in two very different events."
 
Four additional CSUB women reached finals on day one, including Ariane Skeggs, Hannah Marsh and Jessica Franco in the 500 Freestyle, Tabea Mose in the 50 Free and Danielle Albright in the 200 IM.
 
"The men were off in the morning, which put us at a disadvantage in the finals," Hansen explained. "We will swim stronger events the next two nights and improve from here through the weekend."
 
Sophomore Lars Hanna had strong swims in the 200 IM and leading off his medley relay in the 100 Back to lead the Bakersfield men.

The Roadrunners return to the Human Performance Center at Dixie State University for two more days of competition at the DSU Invitational, before select student-athletes head to Greensboro, N.C., for the Toyota US Open, Dec. 1-3.
 
Female Top Performers –
* D'Arcy set school records in the 200 IM (1:59.77) and in the 100 Backstroke (54.21). She now holds school records in four separate events and is a part of three school-best relay teams.
* D'Arcy's win in the 200 IM is the 55th of her Bakersfield career, leaving her just five wins shy of matching Paola Hernandez Division I era standard of 60.
* Popham posted season-best times in both the 50 Freestyle (23.11) and the 500 Freestyle (4:52.06).
* D'Arcy and Popham were joined by freshmen Albright and Lorena Jerebic on the 400 Medley Relay, placing third and posting the 5th fastest time in school history with a 4:44.40.  
* Freshman Jessica Franco earned her trip to the finals in her Bakersfield debut, after missing the first few weeks with a foot injury.
* Tabea Mose and Courtney Linton were joined by newcomers Melinda Johnson and Franco to post a strong time in the 200 Freestyle Relay.
 
Male Top Performers –
* Hanna posted Bakersfield's top time in the 200 IM (1:52.98) and led off his medley relay with a 50.99 in the 100 Backstroke.
* Senior Kris Rogic posted his best lead-off 100 Backstroke of the season in the A-medley relay with a split of 48.92.
* Ryan Brimer's relay split was 44.73 in the 100 Freestyle.
* Antonio Milin was the lone `Runner man to advance to a final, placing 12th in the 50 Freestyle with a 20.63.
