CSUB Drops Final Home Match vs. Hawai'i

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield women's soccer could not slow down an aggressive Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine team, coming off their first conference win. Three first half goals and another in the second resulted in the 4-0 loss at the Main Soccer Field on senior night.

UH netted their first goal in the 8th minute on a rebound and second attempt from Eliza Ammendolia. The visitors second goal came in the 12th minute of the match on a corner attempt from Maki Kono. Kono scored again just ahead of halftime in the 39th minute, tallying the 'Bows' only assist from Kayla Ryan.

Freshmen goalkeeper Flavia Burrell had recorded her game-high six saves in the first 45 minutes of the game while freshman Haley Slouka added three in the second half for a combined nine goalie saves.

Hawai'i made its final goal in the 48th minute from Ammendolia, unassisted. Bakersfield would keep the Rainbow Wahine off the line for the remaining 42 minutes of the contest for the 4-0 result.

Seniors Taylor Labuschagne, Rhyan Acosta, Caitlin Goetjen, Chay Navares, Litzy Pimentel, and Angelica Hurtado were recognized ahead of kick off for their commitment and effort given while on the Bakersfield soccer team.

CSUB (1-14-2, 0-7-1) prepares for its last pair of Big West contests next weekend with stops at UC Riverside (10/28) and CSUN (10/31).
