Moore, Allen Earn All-Conference Nods

DENVER – The Western Athletic Conference announced the 2020 All-Conference honorees Tuesday morning, as voted on by the league's nine head coaches. The CSU Bakersfield men's basketball team enjoyed a pair of Roadrunners earning All-WAC nods in junior guards Taze Moore and Cam Allen. Moore was one of five student-athletes selected to the All-WAC Defensive Team while Allen made his way onto the All-WAC Newcomers Team.

Moore, a native of Southaven, Miss., has been CSUB's offense leader all season long, but his ability to fill the stat sheet caught the eyes of the rest of the league's coaches. The 6-foot-5 guard flies high on both ends of the court and ranks fifth in the conference with 27 blocks on the year. Moore has also tallied 36 steals, ranking him 10th in the WAC and providing an all-around defensive presence for CSUB's defense.

With Moore's nod, CSUB has now placed at least one `Runner on the All-WAC Defensive Team in six of its seven seasons in the league.

Allen, who hails from Greenville, S.C., transferred to CSUB from Loyola Marymount and made an immediate impact. The guard is deadly accurate from distance, posting a 39.6 three-point field goal percentage on the year, good enough for sixth in the WAC. Allen scored a career-high 25 points on the road against Utah Valley Feb. 20 and he has tallied double digit scoring in 12 games this year.

Moore, Allen, and the `Runners are preparing for the 2020 Hercules Tires WAC Basketball Tournament presented by TicketSmarter, Mar. 12-14. CSUB is the seventh seed in the bracket and will face No. 2 UT Rio Grande Valley on Thursday night in the WAC Quarterfinals.
