Vecchio Signs Five on National Signing Day

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The annual National Letter of Intent signing period opened this week and CSU Bakersfield women's soccer wasted no time in acquiring five new athletes for next season. Head Coach Sebastian Vecchio is pleased to announce the additions of Flavia Burrel, Solei Moton, Jamie Ingrassia, Roisin Rodriguez and Haley Slouka.

"This class, combined with our returners, will make the most talented CSUB team in recent history," explained Vecchio. "The future of CSUB women's soccer is extremely bright."

See below for a quick first look at each newcomer and thoughts from Head Coach Sebastian Vecchio.

Flavia Burrel | Goalkeeper | Tucson, Ariz. | Catalina Foothills HS
Across 63 games and 4009 minutes played Flavia Burrel secured 211 saves and earned 28 shutouts with the Falcons. She was named Freshman Goalkeeper of the Year then First Team All-Region in her next two seasons. Burrel and CFHS were state runner up in 2019, 20. Her club team FC Tucson also made a run at state, falling short in the finals.

"Flavia's size and athleticism will be at the top of the conference. She is very comfortable with the ball at her feet, great communicator and has a fantastic presence in goal. She is raw talent with no limits on what she can accomplish at CSUB."

Solei Moton | Outside Back | Tucson, Ariz. | Catalina Foothills HS
Solei (So-lay) Moton is a physical defender and quick to win first touches. She was named 5A Arizona Girls Soccer First Team last season and 5A Arizona Girls Soccer Second Team the previous year. Moton and the Falcons were state runner up in 2019, 20.

"Solei brings size and athleticism to our team. She is a wide player capable of playing in the midfield or back line. Solei possesses all the qualities to compete for playing time right away."

Jamie Ingrassia | Forward | Markham / Ontario / Canada | Bill Crothers SS
With accolades and success in soccer, football and basketball Jamie Ingrassia brings a unique prowess to the Roadrunner roster. Ingrassia has scored 130 goals over three seasons with the Colts. Her strength and accuracy on ball earned her a spot on the varsity football team as the kicker.

"Jamie has the potential to be one of the best players in the Big West. She is a true goal scorer, extremely competitive and will make us very dangerous up front."

Roisin Rodriguez | Outside Back | Bakersfield, Calif. | Frontier HS
Roisin (Ro-sheen) Rodriguez earned Team MVP with the Titans last season. Her track speed shows on the pitch when going after 50-50 possessions. She set the school record in both the 100- and 200-meter race.

"Roisin is another quality player from Bakersfield choosing to stay home. She is a quick and smart defender with a great left foot."

Haley Slouka | Goalkeeper | Corona, Calif. | Santiago HS
Quick when in between the posts, Haley Slouka (Slo-ka) helped the Sharks finish 20-2-6 overall and 6-0-4 in league last year.

"Haley will make our goalkeeper crew even stronger, she is a tireless worker and a true competitor with great leadership qualities."
