Beard Signs Rawlings Equipment Deal

Bakersfield, Calif. – Rawlings Sports' Chief Marketing Director Mike Thompson and CSU Bakersfield Head Coach Jeremy Beard have announced an agreement for Rawlings Sports to serve as the exclusive equipment provider for Roadrunner baseball. Beard and CSUB will join Rawlings' Collegiate Advisory Staff, while the company will outfit the program with bats, gloves, helmets, batting gloves and more.
 
Rawlings has long served as the official ball, glove and helmet of Major League Baseball and enjoys exclusive partnerships with a select group of successful college baseball programs.
 
"Rawlings is proud to partner with Head Coach Jeremy Beard and add CSU-Bakersfield's immensely talented baseball program to our Collegiate Advisory Staff," Chief Marketing Officer Mike Thompson explained. "We're looking forward to outfitting each player with innovative, high-quality products that will provide a competitive advantage on the diamond each season."
 
Beard enters his fourth season at the helm for CSUB. The 2021 season will usher in a new era of Bakersfield Baseball, when the program plays its first season as part of the ever-competitive Big West Conference.
 
"Reaching an agreement with Rawlings Sports represents a significant partnership for our baseball program and the University," said Beard. "We would like to thank Mike Thompson and his staff for their consideration of CSU-Bakersfield, and we look forward to being teammates moving forward, and for years to come."
 
The `Runners return all but one letterwinner from 2020's abbreviated 14-game season. A deep and talented recruiting class will also figure into the mix ahead of the 2021 campaign.
 
Outfielder Damian Henderson is the team's lone departure. Henderson signed a free-agent contract with the Cincinnati Reds last summer. He is the 23rd-player to sign with a MLB organization in the program's 12-year history, and the seventh in Beard's tenure.
