Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Bakersfield Remains Unbeaten on the Road

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – For the first time this season the CSU Bakersfield women's soccer team tallied a 1-1 draw at Cal State Northridge on Friday night to remain unbeaten on the road and improve to 3-3-1 overall.  Bakersfield had the Matadors on their heels early. Jordan Martinez initiated the goal with a perfect corner kick into the box that CSUN's goalie caught but dropped and freshman Chelsee Duran was there to clean up and record her second goal of the season in the fourth minute of the contest.

A bit of bad luck fell upon the Roadrunners in the 33rd minute when a cross into the box was headed by a CSUB defender inadvertently into the net that equalized the score.

The score remained tied for the remainder of regulation and the two extra periods as the 1-1 draw would hold.

"Good result on the road against a very good CSUN side!" explained head coach Sebastian Vecchio. "Now rest, recover, and let's get ready for Sunday!"

Bakersfield returns home for a Sunday matinee when the Roadrunners welcome Incarnate Word to Main Soccer Field for the first time. The contest is slated for a Noon start time.
