CSUB Adds Second Thrower to 2020 Outdoor Men's Roster

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. –CSU Bakersfield's men's outdoor track and field team signed its second athlete for the 2020 season. Marcia Mansur-Wentworth, has announced the signing of Jacob Whitby to a National Letter of Intent this week.

Whitby, another former Kern High School District thrower, will transfer from Bakersfield College next fall and be eligible to compete for the Roadrunners in the hammer, discus, and shot put events during the outdoor season. His personal-bests are 175-5 in the hammer throw, 154-2 in discus, and 46-10 in shot put.

Whitby enjoyed a successful career with the Renegades as he tallied three conference titles between discus and hammer and finished second in discus throw at the 2019 California Community College Athletic Association State Championship meet.
