Registration For Women's Basketball Summer Camps Now Open

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield's women's basketball program is thrilled to host the 2019 Roadrunner Basketball Camps this summer. One team camp and one individual camp is slated, each of which will provide youth athletes in the area the opportunity to learn from head coach Greg McCall, his coaching staff, and his players.

CSUB women's basketball is set to hold both camps at the end of June, all on the blue floor inside of the Icardo Center. The `Runners are offering a four-day Team Camp, June 21-24, as well as a four-day Youth Camp, June 24-27.

The Roadrunner Basketball Camps feature great opportunities for girls ages 6-18 years old to come and learn from one of the nation's top women's basketball coaches. McCall led three teams in the last six years to the WNIT or WBI Tournament. CSU Bakersfield advanced to its first-ever WAC Tournament championship game in 2018 but found themselves three-points short of punching their ticket to the Big Dance.

With over thirty years combined of Division I coaching experience, McCall and his staff will drill campers on skills and give lectures on basketball fundamentals daily. Current and former `Runners will be working as camp counselors, helping the CSUB coaches provide attendees with immediate feedback during individual evaluations. Campers will be taught skill work, foot work, offensive and defensive principles while also learning about NCAA rules and the recruiting process.

Team Camp features top competition with teams from the Central Valley, SoCal, and NorCal areas. Participating teams are guaranteed a minimum of four games over three days of camp while Sunday's action will be bracket play. Every game will also be officiated by certified officials.

Youth Camp will run Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. A one-hour lunch will be provided each day. Cost for these camps is $150 per camper, which includes a camp t-shirt. Space is limited to the first 200 campers who enroll. Discounts for CSUB faculty/staff as well as multi-camper/sessions discounts are available.
