CSUB Closes Home Slate With 3-0 Win Over CSU



BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield's women's soccer team closed its 2019 home slate with all six seniors getting minutes on the pitch and a collective 3-0 shutout over Chicago State.  Bakersfield had control of possessions in the first half but couldn't find a goal.
 
Chelsee Duran opened scoring for the Roadrunners in the 50th minute when freshman Dana Neff played a ball to her classmate for Duran's fourth career goal. Sophie Freeman ended her senior home slate on a high note with the second goal of the match in the 63rd minute – unassisted. Freeman netted a free kick from near center field. Giselle Michel recorded the third and final goal of the night. Senior defender Anesa Sasivarevic set the goal up from a corner kick that Duran touched to Michel in the 69th minute.
 
CSUB is on the road next weekend as the Roadrunners close the regular season at Grand Canyon (Nov. 2).
