Finch & Beason Lead Indoor At NAU Team Challenge

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Julianne Finch and Antonia Beason highlighted the CSU Bakersfield women's indoor track and field team at the NAU Team Challenge this weekend as the duo placed third and fourth in pole vault and high jump, respectively.

"Two long eight-hour bus rides in the last seven days took a toll on our athletes today," said Director of Track & Field Marcia Mansur-Wentworth. "We were a bit fatigued."

Finch posted the best finish of the team on the night for the second-straight meet. She improved upon her mark from a week ago clearing 12-01.05 this afternoon.

Beason lead the trio of high jumpers for the second-straight meet, improved by two inches, and dropped two places from her finish at the NAU Friday Night Challenge last week. Her 5-03 mark is good enough to rank fourth on the conference performance list. Jaylen Christensen finished sixth (4-09) while Hannah Walker finished seventh (4-09).

She'Pree Brevil reset her career-best jump in the pit today going the distance of 16-09.25. She finished 13th in the event. Christensen rounded out the flight at 14-11.50.

"We're looking forward to getting back to training and working on a few things," added Mansur-Wentworth. "We're going to continue to work and prepare for what's ahead."

The CSU Bakersfield women's indoor track and field team will head to Santa Barbara, Calif. in two weeks for the Sunshine Invite.
