CHICAGO, IL – The CSU Bakersfield men's basketball team made their longest conference trip of the season a record breaking one for many within the Roadrunners program. CSUB would have six players score in double figures and `Runners Head Coach
Rod Barnes would get his 300
th career coaching victory with an 89-78 win on the road at Western Athletic Conference rival Chicago State.
The `Runners (8-12, 1-4 WAC) would come out firing from long range in the first half and they would catch fire. After 20 minutes of play, the `Runners had a 45-40 lead and CSUB shot 8-14 (57%) from three point range and 17-27 (63%) overall from the field. Freshman
Greg Lee must have enjoyed being close to home and played his best half of basketball as a collegiate. Lee led the `Runners with 11 first half points, was 3-4 from long range and also chipped in with two rebounds. Lee is from Rockford, IL, only an hour west of Chicago.

Justin Davis continued to do JD type things by filling the stat sheet with whatever the `Runners needed. Davis had nine points, five rebounds and a steal at the break. CSUB junior
Damiyne Durham drained three from behind the arc and also had nine points at half.
The `Runners outrebounded the Cougars 11-7 in the first half and both teams were getting huge contributions from their respective benches. The `Runners had 24 points from their bench in the first half, while the Cougars chipped in with 20.
CSUB would continue to get contributions up and down the roster in the second half and eventually pulled away for the 11 point road win. Senior
Brent Wrapp would finish with a double double, 10 points and 10 assists. Davis finished with 13 points and nine rebounds. `Runners junior
Rickey Holden had 13 points and eight assists.
With 6:47 remaining in the second half, Durham scored his 1000
th career point on an assist from who else, Wrapp. Speaking of Wrapp, the senior guard tied Ray Burris for fourth in career games played as a `Runner with 119.
The `Runners would shoot 60% (30-50) from the field for the game and were 10-21 (48%) from three. CSUB would outrebound the Cougars 32-22 and the `Runners would get 41 points from their bench in the victory.
The `Runners will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 26 when they travel to Seattle for a date with WAC rival Seattle U with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
