`Runners Fall 5-2 at Pacific

STOCKTON, Calif.- The CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners fell behind 3-0 in the first half on Sunday and couldn't recover in a 5-2 loss to the Pacific Tigers.

The Tigers struck early in the match getting on the board in the first minute when a Bob Groenendijk cross found Camden Riley for the 1-0 lead. Pacific would go up 2-0 in the 29th minute when Anthony Orendain converted on a deflection. Eight minutes later it was 3-0 after a Johna Rico-contreres unassisted tally.

The Roadrunners managed to get on the board just before the half, taking advantage of a Pacific own goal to make it 3-1 at halftime.

CSUB would strike first early in the second half as Sebastian Mentel scored his first goal of the second off the assist from Victor Romero in the 52nd minute as the `Runners pulled within one. However, Pacific added goals in the 58th and 67th minutes to pull away with the victory. The Tigers outshot the Roadrunners 17-6 in the match.
