Box Score LAS VEGAS, NV – The sixth seeded CSU Bakersfield men's soccer team traveled to Las Vegas looking to play three games in five days at the Western Athletic Conference tournament.
The `Runners would open up the WAC tournament with a match against the three seed and 23
rd ranked in the country, Seattle U.
Seattle U hit both posts and the crossbar in the first 35 minutes of the first half and it looked like the `Runners were going to be able to get to the break scoreless. But freshman Habib Barry scored his second goal of the season at the 39:36 mark of the first half to give Seattle U the 1-0 lead at the break. Alex Roldan would pick up his sixth assist of the season on the Barry goal.
Seattle U would get an early goal in the second half to double their lead. Gabriel Ruiz would score on a header on Roldan's second assist of the night. Sergio Rivas would score Seattle U's second goal of the half just a minute later to extend the lead to 3-0. And that would be how the season would end for CSUB Head Coach
Richie Grant's squad.
The `Runners finish the season 6-11-1, but CSUB gained some valuable experience for such a young squad. Congrats to seniors
Jamie Carey-Morrell and
Marshall Garcia on your great CSUB careers and good luck to you both in the future.
