`Runners Ready To Face Another National Powerhouse

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The 2-1 CSU Bakersfield wrestling team will travel to Palo Alto for a meet against national powerhouse Stanford. The Cardinals will enter the match ranked 32^nd in the country.

The `Runners enter the match after a long weekend on the east coast where CSUB wrestled in three meets in four days. The `Runners defeated Buffalo and Bucknell, but fell to 18^th ranked Edinboro.

Manny Rivera, CSUB's Head Coach of wrestling, will be sending out a lineup very similar to what wrestled on the east coast last weekend, with the possibility of one change.

Redshirt senior, Matt Williams, was the star of the weekend out east. Williams went 3-0, including a victory over Bucknell Senior Tom Sleigh. Sleigh has qualified for the NCAA Championships every year he has wrestled for the Bisons.

The `Runners will look for a little revenge in Palo Alto on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 3:30 p.m. after a hard fought loss at Stanford last year 22-15.
