LAS VEGAS, NV – The CSU Bakersfield women's swimming and diving team was looking to make it three victories in a row when they went to Las Vegas for a Western Athletic Conference meet against UNLV.
The Rebels defeated the `Runners 194-101 to drop CSUB to 2-2 on the year.

Chris Hansen said, CSUB's Director of swimming and diving. "The ladies need to mentally get ready for the upcoming weeks. Like the men, they need everyone to show up to win against big teams."
Jayssie Haynes, a sophomore from San Jose, won the 200 IM (2:11.11), finished third in the 200 freestyle (1:54.28) and the 500 free (5:07.34). Sophomore
Maddie Cosgrove won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:07.67. Haynes and Cosgrove, along with
Alisa Cooke and Alexis Cannon won the 400 freestyle relay with a winning time of 3:37.83.

Alyssa Madero swam a 2:08.98 in the 200 backstroke to finish second in the event.
Summer D'Arcy, a junior from Redlands, Calif, finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.33). Sophomore
Morgan King finished second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.21.
The `Runners next meet will be Saturday, Oct. 28 when they host Hawaii.
