First Game:

In the first contest, CSUB defeating Santa Clara for the third straight time this season 2-1 thanks to a two-run fourth inning thanks to a pair of doubles from Julea Cavazos and Jo Larios. Cavazos, who was 2-for-3 in the game led off the inning with a double, a pair of ground ball outs advanced her to third before Nadia Amezcua walked to extend the inning with two outs. Larios then doubled in two runs with a shot to center field.

Alyssa Stockton earned the win on the mound tossing four scoreless innings giving up two hits and striking out two. It was her first win of the season. The Broncos scored one run in the top of the seventh before Sydney Raeber came in to strike out the final batter of the game, earning her second save of the season.

It was the second win in the tournament for CSUB over Santa Clara and their third straight over the Broncos this season.

Second Game:

The Roadrunners fell in the second and final game of the tournament Saturday 3-1 to San Diego. The 'Runners struck first on a solo homerun by Julea Cavazos but the Torreros struck back in the bottom of the second inning with a two-out rally that included a pair of doubles a hit batter and a walk.

In the bottom of the fifth the Torreros put a runner in scoring position on a leadoff bunt and throwing error followed by a two-out RBI single. The 'Runners had a pair of base runners left on base in their final two innings but were never able to plate another run in the loss.

CSUB (8-19) returns home for a five-game home stand beginning Tuesday, March 29 with a doubleheader against CSUN beginning at 1 P.M. The Roadrunners then open Western Athletic Conference play on Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2 vs. Utah Valley at the Roadrunner Softball Complex. Friday's first pitch is scheduled for 2 P.M. with Saturday's first game scheduled for 1 P.M. that game will be live on the WAC Digital Network. The series concludes Saturday afternoon at 3 P.M.
