HONOLULU, Hawai'i—No. 7 UC Irvine defeated No. 24 CSU Bakersfield 10-2 in water polo action Friday at the University of Hawai'i.

The score was 4-2 at halftime before the Anteaters (13-9) shutout the Roadrunners in the second half 6-0. Ashley Paz and Tancy Aldridge scored the CSUB goals. 'Runner goalie Brittany Tyra made nine saves. Katie Benson made three steals while three players drew three exclusions.

“I was pleased with our intensity today,” said CSUB head coach Jason Gall. “I thought we worked extremely hard though out the game. Tyra was great in the goal.”

The Roadrunners conclude the Hawai'i trip Friday when CSUB (13-14) takes on the host Rainbow Wahine at 6 p.m. HST/9 p.m. PDT.  Hawai'i is ranked fourth in this week's CWPA Top 25 poll.
