TEMPE, Ariz.--No. 24 CSU Bakersfield dropped a pair of games to nationally ranked foes Saturday at the Arizona State Invitational.
No. 9 Arizona State scored six first period goals as the Sun Devils defeated CSU Bakersfield 13-4 in MPSF opener for both schools Saturday morning. ASU outshot the 'Runners 34-11 and were able to convert on all four of their power play chances.
Niki De Leon led CSUB with two goals, two steals, two exclusions drawn, and one assist. Courtney Wahlstrom made 11 saves for the Roadrunners.
No. 16 Wagner defeated the Roadrunners 13-8 in the nightcap. Kristen Jensen, Nicola Barrett, Tancy Aldridge, and Katie Benson each scored two goals to comprise the CSUB offense. Jensen drew five exclusions. Wahlstrom recorded six saves.
The tournament concludes for the Roadrunners when CSUB takes on Redlands at 9 a.m.
