OREM, Utah- The CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners are looking to salvage a weekend sweep on their most-recent Western Athletic Conference road trip with an important Saturday night matchup against Utah Valley at UCCU Arena.

Saturday's meeting is crucial for the Roadrunners, who lost their second straight game 70-64 on Thursday night at first-place Grand Canyon, and find themselves in third place in the WAC standings as the first round of conference play comes to an end. Bakersfield is two games back of first-place GCU and a game back of second place New Mexico State for the top seed in the WAC Tournament in March.

The Roadrunners continue to defend well at home and on the road but have had issue making critical shots in close games in the last two contests. Bakersfield had won six straight prior to the NM State game and had won four straight road contests before their loss on Thursday in Phoenix. CSUB leads the WAC in scoring defense allowing just 64.5 points per game.

Utah Valley (9-12, 3-3 WAC) fell on Thursday night to Seattle 73-62 and is a game behind the 'Runners in the WAC standings. The Wolverines are second in the WAC in scoring offense averaging 76 points per game but is allowing over 78 points per contest, near the bottom of the WAC defensive rankings.

Konner Frey and Jaden Jackson lead the Wolverines with 15 points per game while Frey is also leading the team with seven rebounds per game.

Aly Ahmed leads four Roadrunners in double figures with 15 points per game while fellow senior Kevin Mays is averaging 12 per contest as well. Mays leads the Roadrunners with eight rebounds per game, third most in the WAC.
