BAKERSFIELD, Calif.- CSUB Roadrunner Athletics is getting in the spirit of online discounts this holiday shopping season with a special “Cyber-Week” discount for Saturday's men's basketball game against Fresno State.
Fans can purchase tickets online at Vallitix.com and receive 50% off their entire order by entering the promo code “BeatFresno” at checkout. The offer applies to all available seats in the Icardo Center for this big night in Bakersfield.
“We want the Icardo Center packed, we want this to be a home court advantage that will match the energy that fans will see on the court that night,” said interim athletics director Ziggy Siegfried. “We look forward to taking on our rivals from the central valley and we want to make sure we defend our home court this Saturday night.
A large crowd is expected at the Icardo Center for this valley rivalry game that is being played in Bakersfield for the first time since 2011. The series took a two-year break before the Roadrunners fell 96-86 at Fresno State last season in double overtime.
This will mark the first meeting between Fresno State and CSUB at the Icardo Center, the previous meetings were held first at the Bakersfield Civic Auditorium in 1977 and then at Rabobank Arena, including CSUB's 65-64 upset win over the Bulldogs during the 'Runners first NCAA Division I home game in 2007.
To alleviate crowds and guarantee seats, fans are encouraged to purchase tickets through the Cyber-Week sale at Vallitix.com or purchase in person at the Icardo Center Box Office which will be open all this week from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. The ticket window will also be open on Saturday beginning at Noon.
“The last time we played Fresno State in Bakersfield, we had a great turnout,” Siegfried said. It is always a special time when these two teams get together in Bakersfield.”
Along with Vallitix.com and the Icardo Center box office, fans can also purchase tickets at Vallitix locations including the Emporium Western Store downtown and the Fox Theater.
Tip off Saturday is scheduled for 7 P.M. A pregame family fun zone with bounce houses and more will be open from 5:30-6:30 prior to the game on the south lawn of the Icardo Center.
