BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--The CSU Bakersfield women's basketball team (7-3) hosts a pair of home games beginning Sunday.
The Roadrunners welcome UNLV to the Icardo Center on Sunday for a 2 p.m. start. UNLV took a 2-1 all-time series lead last season when the Lady Rebels defeated the 'Runners 76-74 in Las Vegas.
The Lady Rebels (3-7) dropped their fifth in a row Wednesday night when Northwestern defeated UNLV 88-84. A pair of Lady Rebels, Danielle Miller (18.5) and Alana Cesarz (17.6) is scoring in double figures per game this season for UNLV. This will be a reunion of sorts for CSUB assistant coach Nikki Blue who served as an assistant coach for the Lady Rebels for six seasons prior to joining the Roadrunners' staff at the start of the 2014-15 campaign.
The Roadrunners take on Hawai'i on Tuesday in a 1 p.m. matinee. This will be the third meeting between CSUB and Hawai'i in women's basketball. The Roadrunners defeated the Rainbow Wahine 105-75 in 2009 before Hawai'i defeated the 'Runners 84-74 in Honolulu.
Hawai'i is 5-4 after defeating Division II BYU-Hawai'i 92-40 last Saturday in Honolulu. The Rainbow Wahine is led by Shawana-Leigh Kuehu who paces the team with 13.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.
