CHICAGO, Ill.—Double-doubles from Danika Youngblood (Sr., Salt Lake, City, Utah, Western Nebraska CC) and Luiza Martins (Jr. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Western Nebraska CC) led Bakersfield to a straight sets sweep of Chicago State in Western Athletic Conference volleyball play Saturday afternoon.

The Roadrunners held the Cougars to .000 hitting in the first set on the way to a 25-15 victory. Chicago State held two early leads in the second set before the 'Runners got the offense on track, committing only two hitting errors. Bakersfield used a 9-4 spurt to close the frame out and earn a 25-14 win. The Roadrunners' hitting was at its peak in the final set. CSUB was .322 from the field (16-5-32) as the 'Runners closed the match out with a 25-17 victory.

Youngblood led all players with 11 kills and tied with Mariah Alvidrez (R-Jr., Bakersfield, Calif., Liberty HS) with a match high 12 digs. Youngblood's performance was her 13th double-double of the season and she also added three blocks. Martins earned her ninth double-double of the season with 29 assists and 10 digs.

Molly O'Hagan (Sr., Tonganoxie, Kan., Tonganoxie HS) posted 10 kills, three blocks, and tied her career high with three service aces. Sydney Haynes (R-Fr., Vancouver, Wash., Evergreen HS) and Megan Johnson (R-Jr., Sandy, Utah, Western Nebraska CC) both tallied three blocks.

The Roadrunners complete a three-game road trip next Saturday when CSUB heads to Grand Canyon. First serve is set for 1 p.m. (MST). Bakersfield returns to the Icardo Center Nov. 13 when CSUB hosts Utah Valley in a 7 p.m. start. Tickets are available at Vallitix.com.
