BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--Michaela Paige (So., Lompoc, Calif., Cabrillo HS) won two individual events and was part of a winning relay as Bakersfield dropped a 202-98 decision to UC Davis in a women's swimming dual Sunday.
Paige was victorious in the 100 freestyle (:52.27) and the 200 freestyle (1:51.75). Paige was joined on the winning 400 free relay by Kelsey Lange (So., San Jose, Calif., Santa Teresa HS), Lauren Kaufman (Jr., Renton, Wash., TCU), and Paola Hernandez (Fr., Lompoc, Calif., Cabrillo HS). The relay recorded a time of 3:30.64. won the other 13 events on the day.
The lone Roadrunner senior Jeanette Dove (Fontana, Calif., UC Santa Cruz) finished third in the 100 back (:59.15), fourth in the 200 back (2:09.94), and seventh in the 100 butterfly (1:01.58).
"It was great to see Jeanette swim so great in her last home meet," said Bakersfield director of swimming and diving Chris Hansen. "She is the definition of what we want to all become. UC Davis is a great team and we swam great."
The Roadrunners to travel to UNLV Saturday for a tri-dual with the Rebels and Air Force. The start time is set for 12 p.m.
