MONTEREY
BAY, Calif. – By both carding rounds of
80 in Tuesday's finale of the Monterey Bay Invitational at Del Monte Golf Club,
Junior Malea
Miller (Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield College) and sophomore Lauren
Holbrook (Bakersfield, Calif., Liberty HS) finished in 14th
place and tied for 15th respectively to lead the CSU Bakersfield
women's golf team.
Miller
finished with a 31-over (81-86-80) to hold on to the 14th-place spot she
occupied going into the final 18 holes, while Holbrook moved up from being tied
in 21st on Monday by carding a 33-over (81-88-80).
CSUB freshman
Jordanne Barr fell from sixth place entering the final round
to finishing in a tie for 18th place with a 34-over 260 (84, 79, 87).
The
Roadrunners, as a team, finished in fifth place in the six-team field with a
combined score of 1008 (334-337-335). Northern Colorado won the team title with
an 862 (336-308-308)
The
final 18 holes of the tournament will be held on Tuesday. As a team, the
Roadrunners are in fourth place in the six-team field with a 671. Northern
Colorado is in first place with a 644.
'Runner freshman
Michelle
Martel (Bakersfield, Calif., Frontier HS) carded a 48-over 284 (89-84-91).
Northern
Colorado's Carleigh Silvers is in the lead individually with an 11-over 227 (79-73-75).
The Roadrunners
will return to Bakersfield to host the CSUB Spring Invitational on March 25-26
at Bakersfield Country Club. The CSUB men's golf team will co-host the 54-hole tournament.
