The CSU Bakersfield men's and women's track and field teams will be in action on Thursday and Friday at the Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacifi University.
The meet will begin on Thursday, when the men's and women's hammer events will be held at Cerriots College. All of the remaining events will take place on Saturday at Cougar Athletic Stadium on the Azusa Pacific campus. The running events will begin at 9 a.m., while the field events will start at 9:30 a.m.
The meet is named after former Azusa Pacific star Bryan Clay, who has gone on to have an outstanding career as a decathlete with a resume that includes winning the gold medal for the United States at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
The 'Runners are coming off an impressive performance at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational last weekend where they tallied 17 season-best marks despite competing in rainy and cold conditions.
The meet will be the seventh outdoor competition for the 'Runners this season. CSUB has two more regular-season meets on the schedule, including the Steve Scott Invitational April 28-29 and the OXY Invitational May 5, before it will head to Houston, Texas on May 10-12 for its first-ever Great West Conference Championship meet.
