BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--Stephon Carter (Sr., Bakersfield, Calif., Garces HS) scored 20 points to lead CSU Bakersfield past UTSA 85-52 Saturday night at Rabobank Arena.

Carter was 10-for-10 from the free throw line, added eight rebounds and five steals.  All five CSUB starters scored in double figures. Javonte Maynor (So., Snellvile, Ga., Georgia State) posted 17 with Brandon Barnes (Jr., Atlanta, Ga., Lipscomb) recording 13.

Tyrone White (Sr., Portland, Ore., North Idaho College) and Adam Young (Sr., Las Vegas, Nev., Barton CC) both had 11. White, making his second start point guard, dished out eight assists against two turnovers. Young pulled in a game high nine rebounds.

Bakersfield forced 26 turnovers wihch was turned into 35 points.  UTSA shot 15-of-40 from the field (37.5%), making only six baskets in the first half.  Bakersfield opened the game on a 20-4 run and led by as much as 38 (with 12:55 to go in the second half) in the contest.

CSUB heads to Cal State Fullerton Thursday night for a 7:05 p.m. start.
