San Luis Obipso,
Calif. - Playing the final match of a hectic four-match weekend, the CSUB
Volleyball team was defeated by Cal Poly 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-15) on Sunday
night.
"Cal Pol definitely played a great game tonight keeping us under constant pressure," said CSUB head coach Jolene Shepardson. "We let the loud environment get to us tonight which led to some poor play on our side of the net. Hopefully we'll learn from this and be better prepared in the future."
Coming off her
fourth straight All-Tournament team selection on Saturday at the University of
the Pacific Stockton Hilton Invitational, outside hitter Haleigh Haratyk (So.,
Corona, Calif., Centennial HS) led the Roadrunners with 10 kills, one dig and
one service ace against the Mustangs.
Setter Danielle Gong (Sr., Bakersfield, Calif., Stockdale HS) posted 10 assists with four digs
while fellow setter Lisa Bartsch (So., Wuppertal, Germany, Augusta State) also
finished with 10 assists and added one dig. Sophomore Chelcy Motes (Thatcher,
Ariz., Thatcher HS) chipped in five kills, two assisted blocks and one dig.
CSUB will be
back in action on Thursday when it hits the road again to take on Fresno State
on Thursday at 7 p.m.
