BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--CSUB (10-18) swept a doubleheader from South Dakota (12-21) Apr. 3 at the Roadrunner Softball Complex.
The Roadrunners ran past the Coyotes 9-1 (six innings) to begin the day.
Amy Ricciardi (Fr., Chino Hills, Calif., Ayala HS) went 3-for-4 with three RBI's.
Karissa Veiga (Fr., Hemet, Calif., Hemet HS) also went 3-for-4 as well as scoring two runs.
Stefanie Frei (Sr., Valencia, Calif., Canyon HS) was 2-for-4 with two RBI's.
Jamie Miller (Sr., Livermore, Calif., Ohlone College) posted two hits. Ryan Petersen (Sr., Fresno, Calif., Fresno State) smacked a three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth.
Sammy Rodriguez (Jr., Salinas, Calif., Salinas HS) tossed a two-hitter. The 5-10 righty struck out eight and did not walk a batter.
CSUB defeated South Dakota 4-1 in the final game of the weekend.
Emily Bliss (So., Northridge, Calif., Chaminade Prep) hit her first home of the year in the bottom of the fourth to give the 'Runners the lead. CSUB scored three runs in the fifth. The Coyotes scored their lone run in the top of the seventh.

Sarah Hoag (Fr., Salinas, Calif., Monterey HS) and got the final three outs for her second save of the year. The duo combined on a five-hitter. Ricciardi was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
CSUB is back in action Wednesday afternoon when the Roadrunners host UC Riverside in a doubleheader that is being made up from Mar. 20 that was postponed due to rain.
