CSUB Drops 2 OT Decision To Sonoma State; Falls 19-9 To No. 9 LMU

SANTA CLARA, Calif.-CSUB lost a pair of matches on the final day of the Santa Clara Invitational Apr. 10 at the Sullivan Aquatic Center.

The Roadrunners lost 8-7 in double overtime to WWPA rival Sonoma State in the opening match of the day. Bianca Adams (Fr., Ontario, Calif., St. Lucy's Priory HS) scored on a power play with 31 seconds left in regulation to send the match into overtime at 6-6. Amanda Nesbit (So., Chino Hills, Calif., Chino Hills HS) put the 'Runners up 7-6 in the first overtime before the Seawolves tied it in the first OT. Sonoma State used a power play in the second overtime to score the gamewinning goal.

CSUB dropped a 19-9 decision to No. 9 Loyola Marymount to conclude the tournament. Jessica Browning (So., Lake Forest, Calif., El Toro HS) and Nesbit each scored two goals. Megan Pezzolla (So., Upland, Calif., Bonita HS), who had 13 saves in the opener against Sonoma State, made six saves in 20 minutes of action. Chiyeko Morisaki (Fr., Lodi, Calif., Tokay HS) played the final 12 minutes in goal and had three saves.

The Roadrunners return to the poll next Saturday and Sunday. CSUB hosts the Roadrunner Invitational II Apr. 16-17 at the Hillman Aquatics Center.
