LOS ANGELES, Calif.-The CSUB Men's and Women's Track and
Field teams competed at the USC Invitational Mar. 19 at Cromwell Field. There
were no team scores.
In men's competition, the 4x100m relay of Michael Davis (Sr. Pacoima, Calif., Fresno
City College), Jordan Taylor (Fr., Palmdale, Calif., William Pete Knight HS),
Ryan Nichols (Sr. Bakersfield, Calif., South HS), and Justus Mora (Fr. Sparks,
Nev., Spanish Springs HS) won the event in a time of :41.44.
In the individual 100m, Taylor finished third (10:67)
while Nichols was sixth (:10.76). Taylor also was fifth in the 200m (:21.91).
On the women's side of the ledger; Arianna Celis (Sr. Perris, Calif. (Riverside CC) broke
her one-week old school record in the 1500m when she finished in a
recorded time of 4:31.36.
Casey Glassey (Sr. Loma Linda, Calif., Riverside CC) placed seventh in the
3000m (10:23.61).
"Arianna turned in a tremendous performance," said CSUB
Head Coach Alan Collatz. "She is getting
better and better with each week. On the men's side we had some outstanding
performances in the sprints. We will look to continue to improve as we move
forward."
CSUB will have qualified athletes racing in the Cal-Nevada
Championships Mar. 26-27 at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in Claremont, Calif. The full squad returns to the track Apr. 2 at
the Cal Poly Invitational.
