NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — The CSUB water polo team fell twice at the Northridge mini tournament Saturday, losing to host Cal State Northridge 18–7 before dropping a tough overtime decision to Occidental College by a 13–12 count.

Freshman driver Taylor Hanson (Modesto/Johansen HS) led CSUB with five goals on the day. She scored with 29 seconds remaining in the first overtime against Oxy to tie the match at 12–12 but was denied on a final attempt late in the second overtime as the Tigers held on.

In addition to Hansen, CSUB got four goals each from sophomore Jessica Browning (Lake Forest/El Toro HS) and junior Malia Pahoa (Lake Elsinore/Temescal Canyon HS). Sophomore goalkeeper Megan Pezzolla (Upland/Bonita HS) had 14 blocks against Occidental.

The Roadrunners return to action next weekend when they travel to Orange County for the UC Irvine Anteater Invitational..
