DAVIS, Calif.-CSUB fell 200-93 to UC Davis in a Women's
Swimming and Diving dual Jan. 22 at the Schaal Aquatics Center.
Michelle Kroll (Sr., Castaic, Calif., Ventura College)
charted the lone individual victory for the Roadrunners as she recorded a time
of 2:16.72 in the 200 IM. Kroll led a 1-2-3-4 finish for CSUB in the event.
Rachel Holm (Rocklin, Calif., Sierra College) was second (2:19.47), Larissa
Dewante (Sr., El Dorado Hills, Calif., Sierra College) finished third (2:29.67)
while Kori Thomas (So., Bakersfield, Calif., Golden Valley HS) came in fourth
(2:34.98).
The 200 freestyle relay of Louis Westergren (So., Malmo, Sweden,
Pro Civitas HS), Brooke Penney (Sr., San Diego, Calif., Ventura College), Bonny
Bordwell (Sr., Ventura, Calif., Ventura CC), and Rachel McCall (Jr., Calgary,
Alberta, National Sport School) earned the win by posting a 1:39.14
performance.
The Roadrunners' 200 "B" free relay of Sarah Brady (Jr.,
Tehachapi, Calif., Bakersfield College), Kat Prasser (Sr., Bakersfield, Calif.,
Bakersfield College), Chelsey Ankeny (Jr., Ontario, Calif., Riverside CC), and
Isabel Nystrom (Jr., Stockholm, Sweden, Limestone College) were second in the
race after swimming a time of 1:47.35.
Stephanie Donnelly (Sr., Halifax, Nova Scotia, Halifax
West HS) registered a second place finishes in the 100 backstroke (1:00.36),
100 butterfly (:58.55) and the 200 backstroke (2:08.28).
McCall finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.35)
and the 100 freestyle (:53.96).
Nystrom was second in both the 500 freestyle (5:13.29)
and the 1000 freestyle (10:36.53).
Penney placed second in the 200 freestyle (1:58.33) and
sixth in the 100 freestyle (:55.17).
Jordan Reed (So., Bakersfield, Calif., Liberty HS) was
third in the 1m Diving (206.10) and sixth in the 3m Diving (192.08) events.
Kroll later finished third in the 200 backstroke
(2:16.48) and fourth in the 100 backstroke (1:02.75).
Westergren placed third in the 100 butterfly (1:00.92).
Holm was fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:28.72) and fifth
in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.15).
Olivia Ramos (So., Bakersfield, Calif., Stockdale HS)
posted a fifth place showing in the 200 freestyle (2:07.54).
Ankeny finished fourth in the 500 freestyle (5:20.49) and
fifth in the 1000 freestyle (10:59.47).
Dewante scored in the 200 butterfly when she tallied a
fifth place performance (2:24.23).
Allie Barnard (Jr., Sacramento, Calif., American River
College) placed sixth in the 200 butterfly (2:25.83).
In other relay action, Donnelly, McCall, Westergren, and
Penney scored for CSUB when they posted third in the 200 medley relay
(1:50.67).
"We had several travel
issues that prevented us from warming up properly," said CSUB Head Coach
Pat Skehan. "Davis was very accomidating to us as it was their senior
day. Once we got warmed up, I thought we swam really well. Michelle
posted two season bests. Davis is going to be one of the favorites at
the (MPSF) conference meet."
CSUB returns to the pool Jan. 28 at San Jose State for a 1 p.m. dual.
