BOZEMAN,
Mont. - The CSUB volleyball
team continues its search for win number one this season after falling in the
first of a two-match trip to Montana State, 25-14, 25-14, 25-21 Sunday evening
in Shroyer Gym.
As
has been the case for much of the season, it took the Roadrunners a set to get
into Sunday's match as the Bobcats pulled away early to win the first set. CSUB
was competitive early in the final two sets, but a 5-0 MSU run broke a 9-9 tie
in the second and a 7-2 Bobcat run snapped a 14-14 tie in the third.
Junior
outside hitter Lindy DeGeare led the
Roadrunner offense with seven kills. Middle blockers Alysia Baker and Chelcy
Motes combined to hit .400 Sunday, but they only got 15 swings between them
and weren't a factor in the outcome.
Senior
libero Lindsay Toone chipped in a
match-high 14 digs for CSUB.
Rachelle
Allen had 13 kills to top the Montana State stat sheet. She was the only player
for either team to reach double figures.
The
two teams will conclude their series Monday with a 7 p.m. (MDT) start in
Bozeman.
