EUGENE, Ore. – The CSUB women's basketball team (6–1) dropped its first game of the season on Sunday, falling to Idaho, 69–59, in its final game of the Oregon Invitational.

After being tied at 10–points apiece through the first eight minutes of the game, Idaho (5–1) went on a 17–5 run to gain a comfortable lead over the Roadrunners. Senior guard Nikki Leon (Canyon Country, Calif./Canyon HS) scored five of her team–leading 14 points in the first half, however the rest of the team struggled, shooting 30.0 percent (9–30) from the floor. The 'Runners trailed at the break for the first time all season, as Idaho took a 36–21 lead into halftime.

CSUB's shooting performance improved in the second half as it cut the Vandals' lead to six with seven minutes remaining in the game. Idaho responded over the next three minutes with a 7–1 run to increase its lead back to 10–points. Despite out–scoring the Vandals in the second half, the 'Runners were unable to take over the lead, dropping their first game of the season.

Five different Vandals finished the night in double–digit scoring while the Roadrunners were held to less than 60–points for the first time all season.

Junior forward Jana Smith (Tehachapi, Calif./Tehachapi HS) led the Roadrunners in rebounding (8 rebounds) and contributed seven points while junior guard Kristine Herman (San Ramon, Calif./Florida Gulf Coast) finished the night with 10–points.

Senior guard Britney McGee (Bakersfield, Calif./Univ. of Albany) was named to the all–tournament team after back–to–back 16–point performances in the Roadrunners' wins over Sacramento State and Oregon earlier in the tournament. 

The Roadrunners remain in the state of Oregon for their next game, as they travel to Corvallis to take on their second Pac–10 opponent of the season, Oregon State, on Tuesday, Nov. 30. Tip–off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
