No. 19 ?Runners Drop Contest to No. 17 Long Beach State

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The No. 19 CSUB water polo team fell in a non-conference game to No. 17 Long Beach State, 8-6, on Sunday afternoon. The loss moves the Roadrunners' record to 13-10 for the year.

Amanda Ortiz recorded her fifth hat trick in her last six contests to lead the 'Runners. Becky Seelos, Shannon McKenzie and Kaitlin Torres each added a score for CSUB. In goal, Veronica Campbell had 11 blocks.

"We just were not able to capitalize on our 6-on-5 opportunities today," Head Coach Jason Gall said. "Amanda is playing very well right now and we just need to recapture some of the energy we had from last weekend."

The 'Runners will return to Bakersfield on Friday and Saturday as they host the Roadrunner Invitational II at the Hillman Aquatics Center. CSUB will play four contests including WWPA contests against Loyola Marymount on Friday and UC San Diego on Saturday.
