In the game's final two minutes, the lead changed hands four different times. Santa Clara tied the game with 18 seconds remaining, 76–76, on a Maggie Goldenberger jumper. With just one second on the clock, senior Phynique Allen (San Diego, Calif./Eastern Washington)found Davis for a game-winning layup to give CSUB the victory.

The largest Roadrunner lead would be six points, 71–65, with 4:34 remaining in the game before a a 6–0 SCU run tied the game, 71–71, with 2:08 remaining. After a couple of lead changes, the Goldenberger jumper tied it back up before Davis won the game with her last–second bucket.
