LONG BEACH, Calif. — Junior Rachel Holm broke her way into her second CSUB women's swimming top five list in as many days at the 2009 Toshiba Classic Saturday. The Rocklin native swam a 2:25.30 in the preliminaries of the 200 breast, the fifth fastest time in CSUB history.
Rachel McCall and Louise Westergren had season-best times in the 100 free, finishing in 52.52 and 52.78, respectively. Stephanie Donnelly recorded a season-best time of 2:07.23 in the 200 back and was also solid in the 200 fly with a time of 2:10.44.
Swimming the 1,650 free for the first time this season, Renee Roy and Macie Hammond each had personal-best performances. Roy dropped 20 seconds off her previous PR, finishing in 18:29.08, while Hammond set a new PR of 19:23.28.
The 400 free relay team of Westergren, Brooke Penney, Leah Felber and McCall closed out the meet with a 13th-place, 3:31.44.
“We had another really god day,” said Head Coach Pat Skehan. “We raced really well in the morning and had really good performances even though it's tough to see because this was such a fast meet.”
Stanford won the team title with 1809.5 points, followed by Cal in second with 1137 points and UCLA in third with 725 points. CSUB earned 129 points, good for 17th place in the field of 25.
