SAN DIEGO - With leading attacker Lindy DeGeare coming off an illness and a week without
practice, the CSUB volleyball team faced an uphill battle at Mountain West
Conference foe San Diego State. The Aztecs made quick work of the short-handed
Roadrunners, rolling to a 25-12, 25-22, 25-17 win Sunday afternoon in Peterson
Gym.
DeGeare,
the most prolific attacker in NCAA Division I Independent play this season,
played in just two sets and recorded a season-low six kills. Sophomore middle
blocker Alysia Baker led
CSUB with seven kills.
SDSU
(13-13 overall) won going away in the first set. The second and third sets were
more competitive, but the Aztecs pulled away late in both to complete the
sweep.
CSUB
returns home to host Central Valley rival Fresno State Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the
Icardo Center.
