Biography

2010 — Played in 29 of the 31 matches…was fourth in kills with 163…second on the team with 31 service aces…registered three games with double-digit kills (Gonzaga (10), LMU (11), and Seattle (Nov. 5 (11))…had a season high hitting percentage at Cal Poly (Sept 19) with a .667 mark…game high hitting percentage against #13 UCLA (Sept 9) with .538 mark…had a season-high with eight aces against Gonzaga…was second on team with 31 aces for the season…ranked in the top-115 in the NCAA in aces per set with .32 (t-113)…had an ace in 16 of the 31 matches…had not gone consecutive matches without an ace from Nov.18, 2008 until Sept. 4, 2010 (42 matches).

2009 —Baker~continued to put up impressive numbers as a sophomore, numbers that are all the more impressive when one considers she is among the smallest middles in Division I volleyball…earned first team All–Independent honors after leading the independent ranks in hitting percentage (.293), aces (54) and aces per set (0.45)…also finished among the Independent leaders in points (5tf, 389.0), block assists (6th~, 62) and total blocks (7th~, 68)…her 54 service aces rank No. 17 on CSUB’s single–season list…enters the season ranked No. 9 in career attack percentage (.295)…collected 27 kills over three matches to earn all–tournament honors at the Fresno State Invitational…earned Division I Independent Player of the Week honors after hitting .923 (12–0–13) in a win over Seattle (Nov. 1)…reached double figures in kills 19 times, including a career–high 18 in a win over Fresno State (Nov. 17)…also had a career–high six blocks in that win…had at least one aces in 26 of 31 matches.

2008 — Alysia made an immediate impact in 2008, becoming the first true freshman to play in every set for the Roadrunners since Erica Baldwin in 2004… finished second on the team with a .298 attack percentage and third with 258 kills…led CSUB with 55 block assists and 63 total blocks…also chipped in 41 aces, good for third on the team…had double–digit kills in 10 matches, equaling her season–high of 11 three times: vs. Lamar (Sept. 5), Cal State Northridge (Sept. 30) and San Jose State (Oct. 18)…first collegiate double–double came with 10 kills and 10 digs at Utah Valley in the NCAA Division I Independent Championship match (Nov. 22)…season–high five aces vs. CSUN (Nov. 6)…season–high five blocks vs. Lamar.

High School —~Alysia made the jump from high school star to collegiate starter after an award–winning career at Tri–City Christian High School in northern San Diego County…CIF San Diego Section Division V titles as a junior and senior while earning CIF Player of the Year honors in 2007…ranked among San Diego’s top players in 2007 by both the~Union–Tribune~and the~North County Times~…averaged 3.9 kills, 3.0 digs and 0.9 blocks per set as a senior…first team All–Coastal North League in 2007…second team All–North County as a junior and senior…earned area player of the week honors twice as a senior…team MVP and co–captain in 2007…earned team most improved player award as both a freshman and a sophomore…also played basketball for one year at Tri–City.

Personal —~An Oceanside, Calif., native, Alysia is majoring in kinesiology at CSUB…career goal is to be a physical therapist…an excellent student who carried a 3.6 grade point average and posted 1,540 SAT score in high school…parents are Cheryl Chilton and Mike Baker.
