BAKERSFIELD, Calif. ? Diver Victoria Kreutz won both the 1-meter and 3-meter events and freshman Rachel McCall won the 100 free as the CSUB women's swim team took on San Diego State Saturday at the Hillman Aquatics Center. SDSU won the meet 179-117.

Kreutz scored 266.25 points in the 1-meter event, earning nearly 10 points more than runner-up Caitlin Atkinson from San Diego State. The junior from Canada also easily won the 3-meter event with a score of 256.03, well ahead of Atkinson's 244.51.

McCall was short of her personal-best 52.50 in the 100 free, set at the UCI Nike Cup in November, but the freshman still used a 54.97 time to top the field of six swimmers. The Aztecs' Shaida Solimani was second in a time of 55.29.

In the 1,000 free, both Leah Felber and Macie Hammond trimmed time to set new season-best marks. Felber swam to an 11:05.61, third place finish, more than nine seconds faster than her previous season-best. Hammond, meanwhile, cut more than 11 seconds off her previous top time, finishing in 12:12.44.

Lexie Kelly also set a new season-best in the 100 butterfly, placing third in a time of 1:02.94.

“We've been training hard recently and we were still able to turn in some season-best times which is surprising,” said Roadrunner Head Coach Pat Skehan. “It's difficult to train double and race well in competition the same week, so we did a good job under those conditions.”
