BAKERSFIELD, Calif. ? Senior Erin Craft and sophomore Emily Bissett each won a pair of events and the CSUB women's swim team turned in a strong all-around performance in a 128-82 dual meet loss to San Jose State at the John S. Hillman Aquatics Center Saturday.
Bissett, who had won both diving events against the Spartans' Jo Thibodaux on Friday, turned in another pair of winning performances Saturday, scoring 209.93 on the one-meter board and 201.23 on the three-meter board.
Craft, meanwhile, swam a quick 25.67 in the 50 yard freestyle, beating out four San Jose State sprinters who filled in the second through fifth positions. Five events later, Craft's time of 1:00.51 in the 100 yard backstroke beat out fellow Roadrunner Stephanie Donnelly, who finished in a time of 1:02.02.
Donnelly, a freshman, also placed second in the 400 yard individual medley with a final time of 4:52.34. The ?Runners also got second place finishes from junior Lexie Kelly who had a time of 1:03.31 in the 100 yard butterfly, and sophomore Tessa Brown whose time of
1:09.25 in the 100 yard breaststroke was just .09 seconds off the winning mark.
CSUB breaks from competition until Jan. 19 when it travels to Los Angeles to face off against Loyola Marymount at 1 p.m.
