Women Fall 2-0 at Pacific

STOCKTON, Calif. ? The University of the Pacific women's soccer team broke through with a pair of second half goals to hand CSUB a 2?0 defeat Sunday afternoon at Stagg Stadium in Stockton.

Carla Vellutini scored 13 minutes after halftime to give Pacific (5?2?1 overall) the lead. Bunny Dickson added her fourth goal of the season in the 78th minute to put the match on ice.

CSUB (2?5?0) played short?handed again as junior midfielder Moriah Neville, arguably Bakersfield's best player, missed the match following an injury suffered in Thursday's match with UC Santa Barbara. The Roadrunners adjusted in the second half, putting pressure on the Tiger defense, taking five shots and four corners in the period, but they couldn't solve goalkeeper Jaime Souza who made three saves to earn the shutout.

The 'Runners will continue their five?match road trip Friday when they visit Sacramento State for the first time.
