CSUB will open conference play on the road for the second straight year, this time at CSUN (Dec. 4) and UC Santa Barbara (Dec. 6). Last year during Bold Week, Bakersfield dropped their two games when they took on the two best teams in The Big West, UC Irvine and UC San Diego.
Following Bold Week and the conclusion of non-conference play, the `Runners will have six home games in January, including one to kick off the new year hosting UC Irvine (Jan. 1). CSUB will host UC Riverside (Jan. 8), UC Santa Barbara (Jan. 15), UC San Diego (Jan. 17), Cal Poly (Jan. 29), and UC Davis (Jan. 31). Bakersfield will be traveling to UC Davis (Jan. 8), Long Beach State (Jan. 10), and Hawai’i (Jan. 22).
CSUB will hit the road four times in February, spending the first week at UC Irvine (Feb. 5) and Cal State Fullerton (Feb. 7). Following the road trip, Bakersfield will host Hawai’i (Feb. 12) and then make a quick trip to UC Riverside (Feb. 19). The `Runners round out the month coming in and out of the Icardo, at home versus Cal State Fullerton (Feb. 21), at UC San Diego (Feb. 26), and back home versus Long Beach State (Feb. 28).
As the season winds down, Bakersfield will be looking for a strong finish with two tough opponents in CSUN at home for Senior Night (Mar. 5) and at Cal Poly (Mar. 7) to end regular-season play. CSUB is expecting to punch their ticket to the Big West Championships in Henderson, Nev., from Mar. 11-14.
Last season, CSUB finished conference play with a record of 8-12. Head Coach Rod Barnes and the `Runners completed sweeps over UC Davis, Long Beach State, and Cal State Fullerton. Bakersfield earned a huge win over Hawai’i to close out the 2024-25 regular-season campaign, helping to earn their spot in the Big West Championship, with CSUB's first win over UH since 2021.
Stay tuned for the release of Cal State Bakersfield's non-conference schedule soon. Fans can get a first look at Bakersfield's squad at the `Runners Hoopfest on October 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the Icardo Center!
